A shootout reportedly broke out between personnel from Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) and the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) of the Defence Ministry in Kyiv, according to the local Telegram channel "Kyivskiy Dvizh."
The incident allegedly took place near 10 Yuri Shumsky Street. Preliminary reports suggest the confrontation was linked to the disappearance of Stepan Kalpunov, a deputy commander of the "Russian Volunteer Corps" (RDK).
According to Ukrainian media reports, HUR officers arrived at the location to detain SBU personnel allegedly connected to Kalpunov’s disappearance. The SBU officers were reportedly at the address with Kalpunov, and a confrontation subsequently escalated into a shootout.
Kalpunov reportedly disappeared near his home on August 23. His associates claim that unidentified individuals forced him into a vehicle and took him away.
They also said that appeals to Ukraine’s military intelligence service, the SBU and the State Bureau of Investigation had produced no results.
