Ukrainian forces struck 16 targets across Russia over the past 24 hours, including oil-refining facilities, airfields and military infrastructure, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.

According to Zelenskyy, Ukrainian forces carried out long-range strikes against targets linked to Russia’s oil industry, as well as airfields, a missile unit, a military enterprise and logistics hubs.

The Ukrainian General Staff confirmed that one of the targets was the Lukoil-Nizhny Novgorod Oil Refinery in Kstovo, in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod region.

The strike caused a fire at the refinery, the General Staff said.

The facility is one of Russia’s largest oil refineries and has an annual processing capacity of about 17 million tonnes of crude oil.
