Kazakhstan TV is interested in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijani television channels through joint media projects and content exchange, said Erkin Mukhamedzhanov, Deputy Chairman of the broadcaster’s board.
Speaking on the sidelines of the International Media Forum in Tashkent, Mukhamedzhanov said Kazakhstan TV maintains close ties with media organizations across the Turkic world, including in Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“We are interested in this and are ready for close cooperation with our Azerbaijani brothers, with the television networks of brotherly nations,” Mukhamedzhanov said.
He noted that Kazakhstan TV and Azerbaijan’s state television broadcaster already have a memorandum of cooperation, providing a foundation for further joint initiatives.
Mukhamedzhanov also said a documentary produced by Kazakhstan TV focusing on the cultural heritage of Turkic peoples could eventually be broadcast in Azerbaijan following its initial domestic release.
“It is only a matter of time. First, we will present the film to our audience and assess its reaction,” he said.
Addressing the long-standing proposal to establish a common television channel for the Turkic world, Mukhamedzhanov said the idea has been under discussion for many years.
“We will be able to support each other through content exchange, provide filming locations and offer the necessary assistance,” he said.
He emphasized that the Kazakhstan TV documentary project seeks to showcase the deep cultural connections shared by Turkic peoples.
“Through this project, we want to once again demonstrate that we are united not only by history and language, but also by close cultural ties,” Mukhamedzhanov added.
