BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 24. The Heydar Aliyev
Center in Baku has been illuminated in the colors of the Ukrainian
national flag.
Ukrainian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Yuriy Husyev shared the
information on his social media account.
“Baku tonight is special! Thank you, Azerbaijan!” the post
said.
August 24 marks Ukraine’s Independence Day, the country’s main
national holiday. It commemorates the adoption by the Verkhovna
Rada of the Act of Declaration of Independence of Ukraine on August
24, 1991. The decision was subsequently confirmed by a nationwide
referendum on December 1 of the same year.
