TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 24. Banking and
financial institutions in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are expanding
cooperation, including through international forums where
representatives from the two countries discuss opportunities for
developing the financial sector and exchanging expertise, the
Product Marketing Manager at Hamkorbank Aziza Normurodova told
Trend on the
sidelines of the Silk Road Finance & Technology Forum.
According to her, the participation of Azerbaijani
representatives in events organized by Uzbekistan’s financial
sector creates additional opportunities to discuss pressing issues
and establish professional contacts.
“Currently, Uzbekistan is increasingly developing its banking
sector, just like other Eurasian countries, such as Azerbaijan. It
is very important to meet at such forums and discuss the challenges
and opportunities for the development of the financial sector,”
Normurodova said.
She noted that cooperation between countries allows
representatives of the financial sector to exchange practical
experience and discuss future areas of collaboration.
“The financial sector is a key indicator of economic
development. Establishing bilateral ties between Eurasian countries
is important for understanding where to focus our efforts and how
to develop bilateral relations,” she said.
Speaking about cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan,
Normurodova noted the existence of contacts and agreements between
business and financial sector representatives from both
countries.
Furthermore, Normurodova highlighted the importance of
international events that bring together representatives from
Central Asian and Eurasian countries for the development of
business ties.
“When countries come together in one place and openly share
their experiences, it lays the foundation for new professional and
business ties. Ultimately, such contacts contribute to the further
development of financial cooperation between countries,” she
said.
