Ukraine should decide when to hold elections in line with its constitutional and legal framework, while the European Union is ready to support any electoral process, an EU spokesperson said on August 24.
Anitta Hipper, spokesperson for EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, said the timing of elections was a matter for Kyiv to determine, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
“The EU stands ready to support Ukraine throughout the electoral process,” Hipper said on August 20, adding that Brussels could assist Ukraine in meeting relevant democratic requirements.
In an August 18 address, former Ukrainian Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov called for a lawful, secure and realistic framework to be established to allow elections to take place in Ukraine.
