BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 24. Investment in
fixed capital in Kyrgyzstan increased by 59% from January through
July 2026.

This was reported by the press service of the Cabinet of
Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, citing a statement by Chairman Adylbek
Kasymaliev made during the official opening ceremony of the
renovated A.S. Pushkin Park in Karakol.

"Investment in fixed capital increased by 59%, reaching 238
billion soms ($2.72 billion). The construction sector is growing
particularly rapidly, with growth reaching 60.6%," Kasymaliev
said.

Adylbek Kasymaliev noted that Karakol has undergone significant
development in recent years, including the renovation of road
infrastructure, construction of new residential facilities, and
modernization of water supply and sewerage systems.

He added that the city’s tourism and transport infrastructure is
also reaching a new level.

According to Trend’s analysis, the sharp increase in fixed capital
investment highlights the strengthening of investment activity in
Kyrgyzstan and the growing contribution of capital spending to
economic expansion.

The 59% increase in investment to 238 billion soms ($2.72
billion) indicates a significant expansion in spending on
infrastructure, construction and other fixed assets during the
first seven months of 2026.

The construction sector’s 60.6% growth stands out as a key
driver of this trend. Rising construction activity, alongside
investment in roads, residential facilities and utilities, points
to continued development of physical infrastructure across the
country.

Karakol provides a regional example of this process, with
ongoing projects covering road infrastructure, housing, water
supply and sewerage, as well as tourism and transport
facilities.

Looking ahead, sustained investment growth could support broader
economic activity, improve infrastructure capacity and create
additional opportunities for businesses. At the same time,
maintaining investment momentum will depend on the availability of
financing, efficient project implementation and continued
development of the country’s infrastructure.
