Scammers have begun sending users messages posing as Telegram support, warning them that their accounts could be blocked, RIA Novosti reports.
The scammers claim to have detected “suspicious activity” and received complaints about the victim’s account. The messages warn of possible restrictions due to “violations of the messenger’s rules.”
The scheme is designed to pressure users into clicking a link and “confirming their account.” Those who refuse are threatened with account blocking, while users who comply risk having their account access stolen, the agency found.
