A two-story Sushi Bus will begin operating in the Japanese capital on October 10, 2026, allowing passengers to eat unlimited sushi during the ride, Japanese publication PR Times reports.
The bus’s first floor will house a kitchen where chefs will prepare sushi during the journey. Once ready, the dishes will be transported to the second floor via a special lift and placed on a rotating conveyor belt running alongside the passenger seats.
Designed to accommodate 20 passengers, the bus will depart from Tokyo Station and pass through the capital’s main tourist districts. The 70-minute journey will cost 16,000 Japanese yen, or about $100.
Organizers said that, if the concept proves popular, similar buses could later be launched in Osaka and Kyoto.
