Lithuania has deployed NASAMS air defence systems near Vilnius, Lithuanian Army Commander General Raimundas Vaikšnoras told BNS.
“We have strengthened the protection of the airspace approaching Vilnius by deploying NASAMS systems. They have replaced the RBS-70 anti-aircraft systems used previously,” he said.
According to Vaikšnoras, the new systems provide stronger and broader protection.
“Critics say using expensive NASAMS missiles to counter cheap drones is unproductive. However, we currently have no other means,” Vaikšnoras added.
