Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia is continuing its development despite ongoing challenges, pointing to large-scale initiatives across the economy, defence sector, and state administration.
emphasised the nation's independence, describing Russia as a sovereign state capable of determining its own trajectory. He addressed the upcoming legislative term, noting that lawmakers elected to the ninth convocation of the State Duma must be prepared to defend national interests and serve the public. He added that the vote would demonstrate state stability and reflect the collective intent of a united population determined to protect the country's interests.
The official campaign for the State Duma legislative elections commenced after Putin signed an executive decree scheduling the vote. Voting will occur over a three-day period from September 18 to September 20, 2026.
