BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 20. Azerbaijan will
introduce a new visa subtype called the “digital traveler”
visa.

This is outlined in the “State Program for Tourism Development
for 2026–2030,” approved today by President Ilham Aliyev.

The State Program also provides for improving mechanisms to
harmonize passenger transport and tourism policies in the Republic
of Azerbaijan, increasing the number of countries with which a
visa-free regime is in effect, in order to promote inbound tourism
from target tourism markets, improving the process of issuing
multiple-entry electronic visas for inbound tourism, increasing the
contribution of tourism policy to the country’s socioeconomic
development, and improving coordination mechanisms that ensure the
interaction of relevant economic sectors with development
policy.
