BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 14. Uzbekistan and
Gulf Oil discussed the implementation of a joint investment project
and agreed on steps to expand strategic partnership and related
infrastructure.
This was reflected in the statement by the Ministry of
Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan following a meeting
between Deputy Minister Shokhrukh Ghulamov and Shavleg Mishveladze,
Gulf Oil’s business development representative, on August 13.
According to the ministry, in the course of the meeting, the
sides reviewed the progress of the joint investment project and

areas for expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and Gulf Oil,
including the development of relevant infrastructure and
opportunities for deeper strategic engagement.
Gulf Oil is a US-based oil company with more than a century of
experience in oil refining, petroleum products manufacturing and
distribution.
“The parties agreed on a plan for further development of the
joint investment project and identified key areas for expanding
strategic partnership and infrastructure,” the Uzbek ministry

international companies with expertise in the energy and petroleum
sectors and develop investment projects with a focus on expanding
industrial and infrastructure capacity.

identified initiatives toward practical implementation.
