BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 14. Tajikistan has
launched a new electrical cable plant in its Tursunzoda region,
with an annual production capacity of 3,600 tons.
This was reported by the press service of the President of
Tajikistan in a press release following President Emomali Rahmon’s
visit to Tursunzoda on August 14.
According to the report, the plant, operated by Nokili
Tursunzoda CJSC, was built by domestic entrepreneurs and covers an
area of 14,000 square meters. The enterprise produces 30 types of
electrical cables, while its total product range includes 100 types
of cables of various sizes.
The facility has five production lines, with its products used
in internal electrical networks of buildings and created 100 jobs
for local residents, the report noted.
The facility is expected to contribute to expanding domestic
production capacity and reducing imports of electrical cables.
During the visit, Tajikistan’s president was also briefed on
development in Tursunzoda ahead of the country’s 35th anniversary
of independence. Thus, a total of 530 new facilities have been
built and commissioned in the city, exceeding the previously
approved target of 460 facilities.
In addition, more than 10,000 jobs have been created across
these facilities, while 232 kilometers of roads have been asphalted
and another 59 kilometers covered with concrete.
