Three people were killed and several others injured after an explosion at the Arabella Plaza shopping centre in Cairo, Egypt’s Interior Ministry said.
The explosion occurred on the evening of August 13 on the ground floor of the shopping centre, inside a gift shop, according to the ministry, Caliber.Az reports.
Authorities said a helium cylinder exploded, triggering a fire that was later extinguished.
The blast also damaged the façades of several nearby shops, the Interior Ministry said in a statement posted on X.
Emergency services responded to the scene, while authorities began investigating the circumstances surrounding the explosion.
