“On the occasion of the Independence Day of the Islamic Republic
of Pakistan, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to the
brotherly people and the Government of Pakistan. Happy Independence
Day, Pakistan!” the congratulatory message reads.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan and Pakistan established diplomatic
relations on June 9, 1992, after Pakistan became one of the first
countries to recognize Azerbaijan’s independence in 1991. Since
then, ties have been based on strong political support, mutual
respect, and cooperation, particularly over the Karabakh and
Kashmir issues. Today, the relationship has evolved into a
strategic partnership, covering defense, trade, investment, energy,
transport, tourism, and other areas. The two countries continue to
strengthen high-level contacts and explore new opportunities to
expand economic and strategic cooperation.
