BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 14. The strong
friendly relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan are based on
mutual respect, cultural ties, and close contacts between the two
peoples, Qasim Mohiuddin, Pakistani Ambassador to Azerbaijan, told
reporters at an event in Baku dedicated to Pakistan’s Independence
Day, Trend's
correspondent reports.
Mohiuddin noted the historical significance of Pakistan’s
establishment as an independent state, highlighting the great
sacrifices made by the country’s founders for the sake of the
freedom and well-being of future generations.
The ambassador also highlighted the role of cultural and
educational ties in strengthening relations between Pakistan and
Azerbaijan, noting the existence of Urdu language departments at
Baku State University and Azerbaijan University of Languages.
“It is precisely this bond, based on friendship and mutual
respect, that forms the foundation of our brotherhood,” Mohiuddin
said.
The diplomat also expressed hope for the further strengthening
of fraternal relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
In conclusion, Mohiuddin expressed his gratitude to the
participants for joining in the celebration of Pakistan’s
Independence Day.
