BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 14. Discussions have
been held on establishing relations between Khankendi city,
Aghdara, and Khojaly districts of Azerbaijan and Cluj-Napoca city,
Romania.


This was reported by the press service of the Romanian embassy
following the meeting of a delegation led by the Special
Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in Khankendi city,
Aghdara and Khojaly districts, Elchin Yusubov, who is on an
official visit to Romania, with the Vice-Mayor of Cluj-Napoca, Dan
Ștefan Tarcea.


According to the report, the meeting discussed the establishment
and development of relations between Khankendi city, Aghdara and
Khojaly districts, and the second-largest city of Romania,
Cluj-Napoca, the implementation of joint projects, investment
opportunities, and other issues of mutual interest.


Tarcea informed about the infrastructure and social projects
implemented in Cluj-Napoca, the work carried out towards the
development of the city, as well as development plans.







Meanwhile, Yusubov spoke about the work carried out in the
Karabakh region he represents. He recalled the liberation of the
Azerbaijani lands by the brave Azerbaijani Army under the
leadership of President Ilham Aliyev after more than 30 years of
occupation, the gradual return of refugees and internally displaced
persons from their homelands to their native lands, as well as the
construction, restoration, and reconstruction work carried out in
each territory of Karabakh.


Yusubov emphasized that precisely on the initiative of the
Azerbaijani side, the peace process in the region began, and
important steps were taken to ensure lasting peace and stability in
the region. He noted that the normalization of relations between
Azerbaijan and Armenia, the signing of a peace agreement, and the
creation of a stable cooperation environment in the region are of
great importance not only for the development of trade and economic
relations with the entire South Caucasus, Europe, and especially
Romania.


The parties agreed to strengthen cooperation on issues of mutual
interest, organize mutual visits, and expand the exchange of
experience.
