Colombia has declared three days of national mourning in memory of the victims of a devastating earthquake, according to a government decree.


During the mourning period, flags will be flown at half-staff at government buildings, as well as at Colombian embassies and consulates abroad, Caliber.Az reports.


A magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck near the city of San José del Palmar in Colombia’s western Chocó department on August 10, killing at least 254 people.
