Pentagon says it sees no threat to US following N.Korean missile launch

The launch of a ballistic missile by North Korea toward the Sea of Japan posed no immediate threat to the United States, its personnel or its allies, the US Pacific Command has stated.

In a post on X, it said the US was aware of the recent missile launch and was closely consulting with its allies and partners, Caliber.Az reports.

“Based on current assessments, these events do not pose an immediate threat to U.S. personnel or territory, or to our allies. The United States remains committed to the defense of the U.S. homeland and our allies in the region,” the command added.

According to earlier reports, North Korea had launched a ballistic missile toward the Sea of Japan.

The missile travelled more than 700 km and fell outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ).
