Iranian armed forces’ strikes on US facilities in the Middle East have caused an estimated $13 billion in damage to the United States.
According to The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Tehran has carried out more than 2,000 missile and drone strikes against US military bases since the US-Israeli military operation against Iran began in February 2026.
The strikes damaged at least 20 facilities across eight Middle Eastern countries hosting US military bases or equipment. Analysts estimate that Iranian forces have damaged or destroyed more than 42 US military aircraft in total, several of which were stationed at air bases.
The United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran on February 28. In response, Tehran has carried out missile and drone strikes against Israel, US bases and oil infrastructure across the Middle East. Iran has also blocked the Strait of Hormuz, through which around 30% of seaborne oil supplies pass.
