BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 9. Iran’s Supreme
Leader Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei held a meeting with President Masoud
Pezeshkian to discuss the country’s economic and military
affairs.


According to a statement released by the office of Iran’s
Supreme Leader marking the start of the third year of Pezeshkian’s
presidency, the meeting covered the country’s challenges,
particularly meeting the population’s basic needs, the current
wartime situation and prospects for the future.


The discussions also focused on developments in the military
sphere, management of the national currency, foreign currency and
energy consumption, as well as economic exchanges with foreign
parties.


Iran’s former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei was
killed on February 28 in US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran. Iran’s
Assembly of Experts subsequently elected his son, Seyyed Mojtaba
Khamenei, as his successor.
