BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 7. Uzbekistan's
Fergana region authorities held talks with Belarusian business
representatives on expanding investment cooperation and advancing
joint projects.
This was reflected in the statement by the Fergana Regional
Administration following a meeting between Governor Khayrullo
Bozorov and the delegation led by Lyudmila Kovalevskaya, director
of the Belarus Trade and Business Center in Izhevsk (Russia.
According to the regional administration, the discussions also
focused on moving to the practical implementation stage of projects
agreed upon during the Fergana regional delegation's visit to Minsk
in July this year.
During the meeting, Belarusian company DOLYA JSC presented its
portfolio of industrial equipment, including high-pressure washing
systems, vacuum machinery, and cleaning equipment designed for
industrial facilities.
The sides also explored opportunities for cooperation in
agriculture, the food industry, tourism, and other sectors
identified as having strong investment potential.
Bozorov said the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and
Belarus continues to deepen, with interregional cooperation playing
an increasingly important role in strengthening economic ties
between the two countries.
The governor highlighted the favorable investment climate in the
Fergana region and reaffirmed the regional government's readiness
to provide comprehensive support to foreign investors seeking to
implement promising projects.
"Strategic partnership relations between Uzbekistan and Belarus
are reaching a new level, while interregional cooperation continues
to expand," Bozorov said during the meeting, adding that the
regional administration is prepared to provide practical assistance
in implementing prospective investment projects.
The talks concluded with agreements on the next steps for
advancing bilateral cooperation.
Following the meeting, Kovalevskaya was presented with a
certificate appointing her as an adviser to the governor of the
Fergana region on the development of trade, economic, and
investment cooperation with Belarus.
