BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 7. Food inflation is
becoming a factor in social tension, so Eurasian Economic Union
(EAEU) countries need to continue jointly monitoring agricultural
markets and respond promptly to potential imbalances.
This was announced by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers
of Kyrgyzstan, Adylbek Kasymaliev, during an expanded meeting of
the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.
According to him, this issue is particularly pressing given
ongoing inflationary pressure.
"We consider it important that the commission continued to
actively monitor the situation in agricultural markets and forecast
shortages or price increases, taking into account information from
member states, and promptly submitted decisions to the Union bodies
that allow for the prompt mitigation of imbalance risks in this
area," Kasymaliev noted.
He also emphasized the need to further enhance the EAEU's
attractiveness for businesses and citizens, as well as adapt
integration mechanisms to changing economic conditions.
According to the head of the Kyrgyz Cabinet, the key focus
remains the formation of common markets for the Union, which should
ensure the free movement of goods, services, capital, and
labor.
"They must become the foundation for the free movement of goods,
services, capital, and labor, providing member states with real
competitive advantages and additional opportunities for economic
growth," he said.
Kasymaliev also emphasized the need to consider risks when
developing common markets for the EAEU, including in the areas of
climate regulation and the platform economy.
