BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 7. President of
Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol
Pashinyan discussed expanding trade, production cooperation, and
investment between the two nations in Cholpon-Ata.
This was reflected in a statement published by the press service
of the Kyrgyz president on August 7.
"Particular attention was paid to the development of trade and
economic cooperation," the statement said.
Japarov stressed the need to give bilateral economic ties more
practical content, increase mutual trade, develop production
cooperation and attract investment.
The sides also discussed regional and international issues of
mutual interest. Pashinyan congratulated Japarov on Kyrgyzstan's
election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
According to the statement, Pashinyan highlighted Kyrgyzstan's
economic growth and the pace of investment project implementation
as factors creating conditions for expanding bilateral trade and
economic cooperation.
The Armenian prime minister also noted that improved transport
connectivity in the South Caucasus could support the development of
trade between Kyrgyzstan and Armenia and strengthen economic
ties.
