French coastguards rescued 157 people from a migrant boat that caught fire in the English Channel early on August 4 near the port of Boulogne-sur-Mer, local authorities have said.

Three coastguard vessels rescued those on board and are transporting them back to the port, according to a statement from the local administration, Caliber.Az reports, citing Reuters.

Five other people from the same boat had been rescued by coastguards a few hours earlier.
