BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 3. The volume of
Azerbaijani oil exports to Greece grew in the first 6 months of
2026.
According to foreign trade data released by the State Customs
Committee of Azerbaijan, the country exported 284,400 tons of crude
oil and petroleum products derived from bituminous minerals
totaling $182.8 million to Greece during the reporting period.
According to Trend's calculations based on the committee's data,
the export volume rose by 52,000 tons, or 22.4%, and the value
scaled up by $53.8 million, or 41.7%, compared to the same period
of 2025.
Meanwhile, the data emphasizes that from January through June
last year, Azerbaijan exported 232,400 tons of crude oil and
petroleum products derived from bituminous minerals to Greece,
valued at $129 million.
Overall, according to the committee's data, Azerbaijan exported
10.12 million tons of crude oil and petroleum products derived from
bituminous minerals in the first six months of the year, worth $6.2
billion.
According to Trend's calculations, compared to the same period
of 2025, the total export value declined by $178 million, or 2.8%,
while export volumes fell by 1.9 million tons, or 15.9%.
Italy remained the largest buyer of Azerbaijani oil from January
through June 2026, importing 5.9 million tons worth $3.49 billion.
The Czech Republic ranked second with imports of 705,800 tons
valued at $497.4 million, while Bulgaria placed third with
purchases of 358,800 tons worth more than $253.1 million.
