has been revealed.

According to Trend's calculations based on data from the Central
Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), the nominal effective exchange rate of
the Azerbaijani manat against foreign currencies totaled 103.5
percentage points as of the reporting period, reflecting an
increase of 1 percentage point in monthly terms and 0.9 percentage
points compared to the same period last year.

At the same time, as of July 1 of this year, the nominal
effective exchange rate of the manat in the non-oil sector was
173.8 percentage points, which is an increase of 1.3 percentage
points compared to the previous month and 1.2 percentage points
compared to the same period of the previous year.

In addition, as of July 1, 2026, the total real effective
exchange rate of the manat was 115.2 percentage points. This
indicator increased by 0.7 percentage points in monthly terms and
remained unchanged in annual terms.

Besides, the real effective exchange rate of the manat in the
non-oil sector during the reporting period was 109.5 percentage
points, which is an increase of 0.2 percentage points in monthly
terms and a decrease of 1.8 percentage points in annual terms.

The dynamics of the manat exchange rate are also reflected in
money circulation indicators. According to the CBA, this rate
amounted to 3.02 points, growing by 0.06 points, or 2.03%, as of
the reporting period compared to June 1 of this year, but decreased
by 0.35 points, or 10.4%, compared to the same period last
year.

As of June 1 of this year, the manat's circulation rate was 2.96
points, while on July 1 of last year, it was 3.37 points.

According to CBA statistics, the lowest circulation rate of the
manat in the last 17 years was recorded in January 2015, at 2.68
points. The highest value was recorded in 2005, at 15.72
points.

According to the CBA Chairman, Taleh Kazimov, the strengthening
of the manat and the processes observed in the foreign exchange
market are related to several factors.

"In the cash foreign exchange market, dollars are mainly sold by
individuals, while the volume of manat deposits and the number of
unique depositors continue to grow. The decline in imports weakens
the demand for foreign currency, while the strengthening of the
manat against the currencies of trading partners creates conditions
for a decrease in imported inflation," he explained.
