BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 3. Uzbekistan's
Fergana region and China's Qingdao Junling Transformers agreed to
advance cooperation on a transformer manufacturing project.
This was reflected n the statement by the Fergana Regional
Administration following a meeting between Fergana Governor
Khayrullo Bozorov and a delegation led by Ji Zhaoshang, founder of
Qingdao Junling Transformers.
The parties reviewed investment projects planned for the Fergana
region, with particular attention given to initiatives in the
Bagdad district.
"The parties agreed to intensify cooperation and move the
planned projects to the practical implementation stage," the
regional administration said in a statement.
According to Ji, the project will be implemented in phases. The
initial stage envisages the import of raw materials and components
required for transformer production and the establishment of an
assembly operation. A later phase will focus on creating a
full-cycle localized manufacturing facility in Uzbekistan.
Bozorov said the regional government has established a dedicated
investment support center to assist foreign investors and pledged
practical support for the implementation of investment
projects.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a memorandum of
cooperation, formalizing the parties' intention to move forward
with the proposed investment.
The planned project aligns with Uzbekistan's broader strategy to
attract foreign direct investment, expand industrial production and
increase the localization of high-value manufacturing through
partnerships with international companies.
