BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 3. Kyrgyzstan
increased imports of motor gasoline from Belarus by more than 31
percent in value and nearly 64% in volume from January through May
2026.
According to data from Kyrgyzstan's National Statistics
Committee, the country imported 1,776.9 tons of Belarusian motor
gasoline from January through May 2026, up 63.7% from 1,085.4 tons
in the corresponding period of 2025.
The value of these imports reached 180.9 million soms
(approximately $2.07 million), compared to 137.8 million soms
($1.58 million) a year earlier, representing a 31.2% increase. In
U.S. dollar terms, imports also climbed 31.1% year-on-year.
According to Trend's analysis, the data show that import volumes
expanded at roughly twice the pace of their value, indicating a
decline in the average import price per ton compared with the same
period last year. This may reflect changes in pricing, procurement
conditions, or the composition of fuel supplies.
Belarus remains one of Kyrgyzstan's fuel suppliers within the
Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), where duty-free trade and
simplified customs procedures facilitate energy trade between
member states.
The increase in gasoline imports comes amid Kyrgyzstan's
continued efforts to ensure stable fuel supplies for the domestic
market, maintain adequate reserves, and diversify import sources to
support growing demand.
