US President Donald Trump announced that he had agreed to cancel a planned large-scale strike on Iran in order to secure a deal with Tehran.
In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump said the United States had been fully prepared for military action on a scale of military terror not “seen since World War II,” but ultimately chose a different course, Caliber.Az reports.
“Despite this, we have just been asked by Iran, and other Middle Eastern Countries, to hold off any attack in that the perimeters of a deal has been agreed to,” he wrote.
According to Trump, the proposed agreement includes the immediate and full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz as well as the elimination of what he described as the “nuclear threat” posed by Tehran.
“Based on this request, I have agreed, for the future benefit of the WORLD and, likewise, the survival of a successful and prosperous Iran, to cancel the attack, subject to being able to rapidly make a DEAL,” the president added.
