US diplomatic missions across several Middle Eastern countries have issued an official security alert urging American citizens to exercise heightened caution amid growing risks of regional escalation, according to a statement published on the website of the US Embassy in Israel.
“Due to heightened tensions in the Middle East, the security environment remains complex with the potential for unforeseen escalation,” the statement said.
US citizens currently in the region are advised to remain highly vigilant and be prepared for significant travel disruptions, including flight cancellations and temporary airspace closures.
American diplomats also urged those already in areas potentially affected by the crisis to consider departing immediately or, if that is not possible, to prepare for a possible emergency evacuation.
Meanwhile, US citizens outside the Middle East are strongly encouraged to reconsider any plans to travel to the region or transit through it.
