The presidents of four Central Asian countries attended the opening of the UIM F1H2O World Championship on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan, highlighting the regional significance of the international powerboat racing event.
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov was joined by Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon at the competition venue, Caliber.Az reports per Kyrgyz media.
The championship marks the first time Kyrgyzstan has hosted the UIM F1H2O World Championship, bringing together competitors and visitors from around the world.
The opening ceremony featured a cultural programme showcasing Kyrgyz traditions, including a water performance highlighted by a flyboard display by a performer dressed in national costume.
