Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has arrived in Kyrgyzstan to participate in an informal consultative meeting of the heads of Central Asian states and the President of Azerbaijan, scheduled to take place in the resort city of Cholpon-Ata in the Issyk-Kul region.
According to Kyrgyz news outlet 24.kg, Berdimuhamedov was welcomed at Issyk-Kul International Airport by Kyrgyz Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev.
The meeting is expected to bring together the leaders of the five Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan to discuss regional cooperation, strengthening partnerships, and key international and regional issues.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is also in Kyrgyzstan. Earlier on July 31, Aliyev and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov made joint press statements following bilateral talks and the signing of an allied relations treaty between the two countries.
