Tech billionaire Elon Musk is re-entering U.S. midterm politics with a major effort to boost Republican voter turnout, reviving his super PAC, America PAC, according to Axios.
The group, which spent more than $260 million supporting Donald Trump in 2024, will focus on door-knocking, digital ads and direct mail targeting conservative voters, including those less likely to vote in midterm elections. Musk’s exact spending plans were not disclosed but are expected to be significant.
“America PAC was an essential partner for our historic GOTV operation in 2024, and their return for 2026 is a huge boost for Republicans across the country,” said James Blair, a senior Trump adviser.
“We will again outsmart our opponents and ruthlessly execute our mission for the GOP between now and Election Day,” he added.
Republicans currently hold a fundraising advantage of more than $300 million over Democrats, excluding roughly $400 million held by Trump-aligned MAGA Inc. The financial edge comes as Trump’s low approval ratings raise concerns about Republican control of Congress.
Musk’s PAC, which says it knocked on more than 10 million doors in 2024, is expected to coordinate with other GOP groups. The effort will be led by his adviser Chris Young.
After a previous fallout with Trump, Musk has resumed backing Republicans, including a $10 million donation to Nate Morris, who later joined the Trump administration.
“The president's political team and the rest of the GOP apparatus have built a top-notch operation that will put Republicans in a strong position to buck history and retain control of Congress this fall, and we're excited to again be part of the team,” said America PAC spokesperson Andrew Romeo.
