Italy’s nationalist party “National Future” (Futuro Nazionale) announced that it has submitted a resolution to the country’s parliament calling for an end to all military aid deliveries to Ukraine.

“The National Future party has presented a clear resolution in the Chamber of Deputies [the lower house of the Italian parliament]: to stop any further supplies of weapons and military equipment to Ukraine. After years of conflict, it is clear to everyone that the strategy of escalation has not led to peace. On the contrary, it has prolonged the war, increased Italy’s expenses, and moved the possibility of a diplomatic settlement further away,” the party said on its Facebook page on Tuesday, July 28.

“National Future” also called for Italian citizens’ resources to be directed toward domestic needs, including support for families, assistance to businesses, healthcare, and border protection.

According to the party, Rome should actively participate in diplomatic initiatives aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine by facilitating peace negotiations.
