French President Emmanuel Macron has thanked Türkiye for its assistance in combating large-scale wildfires.

In a post on X, reposting a message from Turkish Agriculture and Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumaklı, he said: “Thank you, Turkey!,” Caliber.Az reports.

According to Yumaklı, following Spain, Türkiye dispatched two firefighting aircraft to France to assist in extinguishing the wildfires.

He added that Ankara continues to support European countries in responding to major wildfire emergencies.

The large-scale wildfires have already affected around 122,000 hectares of territory in France and Spain this year.

Earlier, a report said France faces new wildfire threat as fire-driven storms emerge.
