Azerbaijan's newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan, Rashad Mammadov, presented his credentials to Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
According to the Uzbek president's press service, Mirziyoyev received the credentials of newly appointed ambassadors from several countries, including Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports.
During the ceremony, officials noted that, thanks to the political will of the leaders of both countries, relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have reached the level of a strategic partnership and alliance.
Bilateral trade has increased by 40%, the number of joint ventures has grown to nearly 450, and cargo transportation between the two countries has doubled.
The two sides also reaffirmed their goal of increasing the value of their joint investment portfolio to $10 billion in the near future.
It was emphasised that upcoming high-level meetings are expected to give fresh momentum to the further development of Uzbek-Azerbaijani cooperation.
Mirziyoyev also received the credentials of the newly appointed ambassadors of Italy, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Algeria, Malaysia, Pakistan, and Kazakhstan.
