A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck off the coast of Mexico, according to the US Geological Survey.
The epicentre was located about 50 kilometres (31 miles) west-southwest of Brisas Barra de Suchiate in Mexico’s southern state of Chiapas. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 35 kilometres, Caliber.Az reports.
No information on casualties or damage has been reported so far.
