Montenegro will introduce visa requirements for citizens of Russia and Belarus starting November 1.
The new visa regime will also apply to nationals of Türkiye, China, and Saudi Arabia, the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
"Montenegro has fully aligned its visa policy with that of the European Union," the ministry said in a statement.
Under a government decree, Montenegrin authorities will retain the option of introducing seasonal visa exemptions.
“This confirms our country’s strong commitment to European integration and has created the conditions for the disbursement of approximately four million euros under the European Union’s Growth Plan for the Western Balkans,” the ministry added.
Visa applications can be submitted through Montenegro's diplomatic and consular missions as well as VFS Global visa application centres.
The country also plans to launch an electronic visa (e-Visa) system, allowing applicants to submit documents online.
