Russia’s financial and economic system remains resilient despite inflationary risks and external restrictions, President Vladimir Putin has stated.
Speaking at a meeting in the Kremlin with deputies of the eighth convocation of the State Duma, Putin said Russia was "passing through the current historical stage with dignity" and continuing to achieve progress in technological development despite external constraints, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
"We have set ourselves the task of achieving technological leadership and, surprisingly, despite all these external restrictions, we are obtaining the results we need," he noted.
Putin outlined the government's budget priorities for the next three years, saying they would include strengthening national defence, addressing key social needs and supporting the economy.
"I am confident that, while working on the budget for the next three-year period, the priority, alongside strengthening the country's defence, will be addressing urgent social issues while supporting key sectors of the economy, leading domestic companies, small and medium-sized businesses, and the labour market, where unemployment has fallen to historically low levels," he added.
The Russian leader stressed that the country's authorities, including lawmakers, remained focused on improving citizens' well-being.
"We are not only adapting to new conditions and confidently overcoming the artificial barriers created from outside, but have also set ambitious long-term goals to improve people's welfare, expand opportunities for self-realisation and reduce poverty. We have much to be proud of in this regard," Putin remarked.
Addressing the conflict in Ukraine, Putin also said Russia would continue to act "carefully but persistently" on the battlefield to achieve its objectives.
