Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the West has put its "Russophobia machine into full gear" since 2022.
Speaking at a meeting in the Kremlin with lawmakers from the outgoing eighth State Duma, he argued that record-breaking Western sanctions against Russia have proved futile while inflicting damage on the countries that imposed them, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
"Moreover, it has done so by two measures at once: both in terms of the number of so-called sanctions and their futility, as well as the damage these sanctions inflict, first and foremost, on their own authors and initiators, and on the peoples of a number of European and other countries," Putin noted.
