Jordan's air defence systems intercepted and destroyed two drones that entered the country's airspace from Iran on the morning of July 27, the Jordanian Armed Forces have stated.
A military source at the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces–Arab Army said Royal Jordanian Air Force aircraft carried out the interception, successfully neutralising both drones after they crossed into Jordanian airspace, Caliber.Az reports, citing Jordan media.
The source noted that the operation caused no casualties or material damage.
Teams from the Royal Engineering Corps were deployed to recover and secure the drone debris at multiple locations in line with established technical and security procedures.
The military added that the Jordanian Armed Forces remain on high alert, continuing to monitor the Kingdom's airspace and maintain operational readiness to respond to any threats to Jordan's security and the safety of its citizens.
Earlier, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) announced that it had intercepted two drones near the border with Jordan.
