Iranian authorities have informed Pakistan, which is acting as a mediator in contacts between Tehran and Washington, that Iran has not withdrawn from talks with US representatives but has only suspended the negotiation process, Al-Hadath reports.

Tehran also told Islamabad that, in the Islamic Republic's view, "the negotiations should continue in accordance with the memorandum of understanding" previously reached between the United States and Iran.

According to the channel's sources, Iran insists on "first resuming negotiations on issues related to the Strait of Hormuz, then addressing the unfreezing of [Iranian] assets, and subsequently resolving the nuclear issue."
