A flash flood caused by sudden heavy rainfall struck a scenic area in northwest China's Gansu province on Sunday afternoon, July 26, killing 10 people and injuring 23 others, local authorities said.
Several tourists who were camping in the scenic area in Weiyuan County, Dingxi City, became trapped when the floodwaters surged through the area, Caliber.Az reports per Xinhua.
Local police and fire-and-rescue teams have been deployed to the scene, where search-and-rescue operations remain underway.
