The Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix, originally scheduled for April 12, has been relocated to Malaysia and will take place from October 2 to 4, the championship's press service announced on July 26.

"BREAKING: Malaysia will host the Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang International Circuit from 2-4 October 2026," Formula 1 said in a post on X.

The race will be placed between the Azerbaijan Grand Prix and the Singapore Grand Prix on the 2026 calendar.

Formula 1 noted that staging the event in Malaysia remains subject to the completion of all necessary approvals and formal confirmation.

Despite the change of venue, the race will retain its official title, Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, while being held at Malaysia's Sepang International Circuit.
