The Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation (AWF) and the US-based organisation Wrestling for Peace have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at expanding cooperation between the two sides.
The signing ceremony, held at the National Gymnastics Arena, was attended by officials from both organisations, guests and other delegates, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Dan Russell, Executive Director of Wrestling for Peace and Adviser for Public Diplomacy, met with AWF Secretary General Parviz Piriyev and expressed his appreciation for the partnership.
The event also featured an exchange of gifts between Azerbaijani and American wrestlers. Members of the US U-17 national team presented their peers from Azerbaijan's Zafar Wrestling Club with autographed posters.
The event concluded with the formal signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Wrestle for Peace and the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation.
