FIFA has generated record revenues of $15 billion from the 2026 World Cup, The Guardian reports.
A major factor behind the increase was ticket sales and ticket resales. FIFA receives a 15% commission from both buyers and sellers in resale transactions, significantly boosting its overall revenue.
The final figure exceeded earlier projections, which had estimated earnings of around $11 billion.
The 2026 tournament marked the first World Cup in history to feature 48 national teams.
