Meta’s social media platforms experienced a major outage on the morning of July 19, according to outage-tracking service Downdetector.
Users around the world reported disruptions affecting Facebook, Instagram and X.
Most complaints were related to desktop versions of the platforms, with users encountering technical error messages when attempting to log in. Mobile applications appeared to be functioning more reliably.
The cause of the outage has not yet been determined.
