Rustam Mirzaevich Dzhuraev has been appointed head of the State Security Service of the President of Uzbekistan, the president’s press secretary announced.
Under a presidential decision, Dzhuraev was also promoted to the rank of lieutenant general, Caliber.Az reports.
Before his appointment, Dzhuraev had served since January 2026 as First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Department of Public Security.
He succeeds Alisher Usmanov, who had headed the presidential security service since December 2020.
